Installing Ceiling Hugger Fans
Ceiling hugger fans – A ceiling fan makes a nice addition to any room in your home. In the summer time, the fan circulates air in the room to cool down, while in the winter time the direction of the blades are reversed to force the hot air near the ceiling down. A ceiling fan is mounted in the center of the ceiling where a normal lamp is normally placed. However most ceiling fans are available with a set of lights. If you have a low, flat roof, a ceiling fan hugger style may be the right choice for you. Hugger style fan mounted near the ceiling so that the blades provide ample headroom.
Turn off the power to the junction box in which you are installing the ceiling hugger fans in the main switch box. Hold the mounting plate ceiling fan junction box on the ceiling, making sure wires hang the box through the hole in the center of the mounting plate. Attach the mounting plate with screws that come with the junction box delivered with a Philips screwdriver clockwise.
Suspend the ceiling hugger fans motor to the junction box with the hook supplied for connecting the wiring easy. Twist together with pliers the black wire from the fan and the black cable junction box. Turn the nut on the end of wire twisted clockwise until tight cables. Repeat this step for white fan cable and white cable junction box. Connect the bare wire from the fan to the green ground screw on the junction box. Tighten the screw with a flathead screwdriver clockwise.
